Scope & Agreement
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs all use of the Spark dating application, website, and any associated services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account or accessing the Platform in any way, you agree to comply with this AUP in full.
This AUP applies to all content you post, upload, transmit, or otherwise make available on or through the Platform, including profile photos, bios, messages, interests, and any other user-generated material.
This AUP supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. In the event of a conflict, the most restrictive provision applies.

Age Requirements
🔞 Minimum Age: 18 Years Old
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Platform in any capacity. Use of Spark by anyone under 18 is strictly prohibited, regardless of local age-of-majority laws.
By registering, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. Spark reserves the right to request age verification documents at any time. Accounts suspected of belonging to minors will be suspended immediately pending investigation.
Creating an account if you are under 18 years old
Misrepresenting your age in any way on your profile or in any communication
Allowing a minor to use your account
Using the Platform to contact, solicit, or communicate with anyone you know or believe to be under 18
Sharing any content that depicts, refers to, or is intended for individuals under 18 in a romantic or sexual context

Accounts confirmed to belong to minors will be permanently terminated and, where required by law, reported to relevant authorities including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Prohibited Content
The following types of content are strictly prohibited anywhere on the Platform, including profile photos, bios, messages, usernames, and any other user-generated fields.
🚫 Sexually Explicit Material
Nudity or sexually explicit imagery in profile photos, bio sections, or any public-facing content
Pornographic material of any kind
Graphic sexual descriptions in bios or messages intended for public audiences
Content that sexualizes any individual without their explicit, documented, ongoing consent
Links to external sites hosting sexually explicit material
🚫 Violent & Disturbing Content
Graphic violence, gore, or content glorifying physical harm
Threats of violence against any individual or group
Content that promotes, glorifies, or instructs self-harm or suicide
Images or descriptions of real-world harm, injury, or death
🚫 Deceptive Identity
Impersonating any real person, celebrity, or public figure
Using photos of another person as your own profile photos
Creating fake or bot accounts
Misrepresenting your identity, location, age, gender, or relationship intentions
Operating multiple accounts to circumvent a suspension or ban

Child Safety & Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSEA)
🚨 Zero Tolerance — Immediate Termination & Law Enforcement Referral
Spark enforces an absolute zero-tolerance policy toward any content, conduct, or communication involving the sexual exploitation or abuse of children. Violations will result in immediate account termination and mandatory reporting to law enforcement and NCMEC.
The following are absolutely prohibited and constitute grounds for immediate account termination and criminal referral:
Uploading, sharing, transmitting, or possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, animated, or AI-generated depictions
Soliciting, grooming, or attempting to engage a minor in sexual conversation or activity
Sharing content that sexualizes, objectifies, or exploits individuals under the age of 18
Using the Platform to arrange in-person contact with a minor for any sexual purpose
Distributing or linking to material that depicts minors in a sexual context
Using coded language, emojis, or indirect methods to solicit CSAM or sexual contact with minors

Spark is required by law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A) to report apparent violations involving CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline. We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations worldwide. We proactively scan content using PhotoDNA and similar technologies to detect known CSAM.

Sexual Violence & Non-Consensual Content
Spark is committed to being a safe space free from sexual violence, coercion, and non-consensual content of any kind.
Sharing, distributing, or threatening to distribute intimate images of another person without their explicit consent ("revenge porn" or non-consensual intimate image sharing — NCII)
Creating, uploading, or distributing deepfake or AI-generated sexual imagery of real individuals without their consent
Content that glorifies, normalizes, or trivializes rape, sexual assault, or any form of sexual coercion
Using the Platform to coerce or pressure another user into sexual activity or the sharing of sexual content
Threatening to expose or distribute intimate images as a form of blackmail or extortion (sextortion)
Soliciting explicit photos or videos from users through deception, manipulation, or false pretenses
Sharing real or fabricated sexual encounters involving identifiable individuals without consent

Human Trafficking & Sexual Exploitation
Spark will not be used as a tool for any form of human exploitation. The following are strictly prohibited:
Recruiting, soliciting, or advertising individuals for sex work, escort services, or commercial sexual services of any kind
Facilitating, promoting, or advertising human trafficking, including labor trafficking and sex trafficking
Using the Platform to recruit or groom victims for trafficking or exploitation
Sharing contact information, codes, or language used to facilitate trafficking operations
Advertising or soliciting "sugar daddy/mommy" arrangements that involve the exchange of money or gifts for sexual favors
Using the Platform to transport, harbor, or receive persons for purposes of exploitation
Providing instructions or resources that facilitate trafficking activity

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call 911. To report human trafficking, contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline: 1-888-373-7888 or text "HELP" to 233733. Spark reports suspected trafficking activity to the National Human Trafficking Hotline and law enforcement.

Fraud, Scams & Deceptive Conduct
Any conduct intended to deceive, defraud, or financially exploit users of the Platform is prohibited.
⚠️ Romance Scams & Financial Fraud
Soliciting money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or financial transfers from other users under false pretenses
Fabricating emergency situations (medical, travel, family) to solicit funds from other users
Operating romance scam schemes, including "pig butchering" cryptocurrency investment fraud
Posing as a romantic interest with the intent to solicit financial information or payments
Sending links designed to harvest financial credentials, passwords, or personal information (phishing)
⚠️ Spam & Commercial Exploitation
Using the Platform to promote external products, services, or businesses without authorization
Sending unsolicited commercial messages (spam) to other users
Directing users to third-party platforms for the purpose of commercial solicitation
Operating bot accounts or using automated tools to interact with other users
Collecting other users' personal data for commercial purposes

Illegal Activity
The Platform may not be used to facilitate, plan, promote, or engage in any illegal activity, including but not limited to:
Buying, selling, or soliciting illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia
Buying, selling, or soliciting illegal weapons, firearms, or ammunition
Stalking, harassment, or cyberbullying in violation of applicable law
Money laundering or facilitating financial crimes
Identity theft or unauthorized access to accounts
Violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
Any conduct that creates civil or criminal liability for Spark or its users

Harassment & Hate Speech
Every person on Spark deserves to be treated with dignity. The following are prohibited:
Targeting, threatening, or harassing any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
Using slurs, derogatory language, or hate symbols in any content on the Platform
Sending unwanted, repeated, or threatening messages after a user has expressed disinterest or blocked you
Coordinating harassment campaigns against any individual, on or off the Platform
Doxxing — publishing private personal information about another person without consent
Content that dehumanizes individuals or groups

Enforcement & Consequences
Spark employs both automated systems and human review teams to detect and respond to policy violations. We reserve the right to take any of the following actions at our sole discretion:
WarningFirst-time or minor violations may result in a formal warning and content removal.
Content RemovalViolating content will be removed immediately upon detection or report.
Temporary SuspensionAccounts may be suspended pending investigation of reported violations.
Permanent BanSerious or repeat violations result in permanent termination of all accounts.
Device & IP BlockBanned users who attempt to re-register may be blocked at the device and IP level.
Law Enforcement ReferralCriminal conduct is reported to relevant authorities without prior notice to the user.
Certain violations — including any CSEA, trafficking, or serious threats of violence — result in immediate permanent termination without warning and mandatory law enforcement referral.

Reporting Violations
We rely on our community to help keep Spark safe. If you encounter content or behavior that violates this AUP, please report it immediately.

All reports are reviewed by our Trust & Safety team, typically within 24 hours. Reports are confidential — the user you report will not be notified of your identity. We do not tolerate retaliation against users who make good-faith reports.

Policy Updates
Spark reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify users via in-app notification and update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
We recommend checking this page periodically. The most current version is always available at spark-dating-app.pages.dev/aup.html.
